Introduction

Last update: 2006, 4 August

The Rubik's Cube, puzzle invented in 1978 by the Ungarian engineer Ernö Rubik, fascinates because in its resolutive difficulty it hides its constructive simplicity. An impossible idea, an idea of those that come once in the life. Resolve the Cube turns out easier than to invent it. So this site is about the resolution of a puzzle so simple but so famous, sold in hundred of million pieces.

This site is for different users, from who has the Cube and never succeded in solving it to who wants to speed up his resolution, solving it in few seconds. To the firsts is suggested the layer by layer method, easy and intuitive, to the seconds the Lars Petrus method, more difficult but quicker.

Who doesn't want to learn a resolution method can use the automatic solver, letting the computer calculate moves to do with the interactive animation.

The interactive animation are in the whole site: it's possible to click on every picture of the Cube to see the move you have to apply on the tridimentional Cube, that, with the mouse, can be twisted in every direction.

The author of this site is not exactly a fan of the Cube, like it can be thought. From years interested in computer science he finds here a launch site in order to leave, in the time, an important trace of himself on the web, in order to understand the mechanisms that regulate it, like a computer science experiment.

I hope you will enjoy surfing in the wonder of the Rubik's Cube!

Note: I'm sorry if some articles are not yet translated from Italian to English. I will fix that soon.
